Gross
Fibrofatty piece 12\10 cm covered by a skin 11 cm entangling enlarged lymph nodes.
Microscopic
The lymph node shows preserved normal architecture. The lymphoid follicles with germinal centers. are increased both in number and size and contain scattered macrophages with phagocytosed
material.
The mantle cell layer is intact and plasma cells are observed in sinuses. No granulomas or malignancy. The picture is consistent with reactive hyperplasia which represent a b-lymphocyte reaction to an infective agent ordrug administration. The condition will completely resolve with treatment.
Diagnosis
Lymph node.Excision : Follicular hyperplasia. non-specific
