Subhana Allah, your words reminded me of the story of the men on the boat, when Almighty Allah put them to test, and made them so close to death by drowning in the sea

They prayed to Almighty Allah and promissed him that if he would rescue them they will make good deeds for the rest of their lives.. of course they forgot that promise and returned to their normal life
