Rewards for Righteousness (3/5)
Dr. Norlain Dindang
10. Companions pure and holy
“But those who have faith and work righteousness they are Companions of the Garden therein shall they abide (forever).” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:82)
“But those who believe and do deeds of righteousness We shall soon admit to gardens with rivers flowing beneath their eternal home. Therein shall they have companions pure and holy. We shall admit them to shades cool and ever deepening.” (Qur’an, Surah An-Nisa’, 4:57)
“But those who believe and work righteousness no burden do We place on any soul but that which it can bear they will be companions of the garden therein to dwell (forever). And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury; beneath them will be rivers flowing; and they shall say: ‘Praise be to Allah Who hath guided us to this (felicity). Never could we have found guidance had it not been for the guidance of Allah. Indeed, it was the truth that the Messengers of our Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer) brought unto us.’ And they shall hear the cry: "Behold the garden before you! You have been made its inheritors for your deeds (of righteousness).”” (Qur’an, Surah Al-A'raf, 7:42-43)
“And those who believe and work righteous deeds them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:9)
11. Best home and reward in the Hereafter
“What is the life of this world but play and amusement? But best is the home in the Hereafter for those who are righteous. Will you not then understand?” (Qur’an, Surah Al-An'am, 6:32)
“But verily the reward of the Hereafter is the best for those who believe and are constant in righteousness.” (Qur’an, Surah Yusuf, 12:57)
"For those who believe and work righteousness is (every) blessedness and a beautiful place of (final) return.” (Qur’an, Surah Ar-Ra'd, 13:29)
“But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness to them shall We give a Home in Heaven lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers - to dwell therein forever; an excellent reward for those who do (good)!” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:58)
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said, "Allah said, ‘I have prepared for My righteous slaves (such excellent things) as no eye has ever seen, nor an ear has ever heard nor a human heart can ever think of.’” (Reported by Bukhari 9/589)
12. Gardens of eternity or eternal abode in Paradise
“But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness that their portion is Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Every time they are fed with fruits there from they say: ‘Why this is what we were fed with before;’ for they are given things in similitude; and they have therein companions [pure and holy]; and they abide therein [forever].” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2: 25)
“But those who believe and work righteousness will be admitted to Gardens beneath which rivers flow to dwell therein forever with the leave of their Rabb (Cherisher and Sustainer): their greeting therein will be: ‘Peace!’” (Qur’an, Surah Ibrahim, 14:23)
“Praises and thanks to Allah Who has sent to His Servant the Book and has allowed therein no crookedness. [He has made it] Straight [and Clear] in order that He may warn [the godless] of a terrible Punishment from Him. And that He may give Glad Tidings to the Believers who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a goodly Reward, wherein they shall remain forever.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Kahf, 18: 1-3)
“As to those who believe and work righteousness verily We shall not suffer to perish the reward of any who do a (single) righteous deed. For them will be Gardens of Eternity; beneath them rivers will flow; they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and they will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade; they will recline therein on raised thrones. How good the recompense! How beautiful a couch to recline on!” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Kahf, 18:30-31)
“As to those who believe and work righteous deeds they have for their entertainment the Gardens of Paradise wherein they shall dwell (for aye): no change will they wish for from them.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Kahf, 18:107-108)
“Except those who repent and believe and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least Gardens of Eternity those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the Unseen: for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass. They will not there hear any vain discourse but only salutations of peace: and they will have therein their sustenance morning and evening. Such is the Garden which We give as an inheritance to those of Our Servants who guard against evil.” (Qur’an, Surah Maryam, 19:60-63)
13. Supreme achievement
“The Day that He assembles you (all) for a day of Assembly that will be a day of mutual loss and gain (among you). And those who believe in Allah and work righteousness He will remove from them their ills and He will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow to dwell therein forever. That will be the Supreme Achievement.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Taghabun, 64:9)
14. Free from any lurking sense of injury and fatigue and they will not urinate or have any nasal secretions or sort of discomforts
“The righteous (will be) amid Gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water). (Their greeting will be): ‘Enter here in Peace and Security.’ And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity). There no sense of fatigue shall touch them nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave.” (Qur’an, Surah Al-Hijr, 15:45-48)
Abu Hurairah narrated that Allah’s Messenger said, “The first group of people who will enter Paradise will be glittering like the full moon, and those who will follow them, will glitter like the most brilliant star in the sky. They will not urinate, relieve nature, spit, or have any nasal secretions. Their combs will be of gold, and their sweat will smell like musk. The aloes-wood will be used in their censers. Their wives will be houris. All of them will look alike and will resemble their father Adam (in stature), sixty cubits tall.” (Reported by Bukhari 4/544)
Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated: “I heard Allah’s Messenger as saying that the inmates of Paradise would eat and drink but would neither spit, nor pass water, nor void excrement, nor suffer catarrh. It was said: 'Then, what would happen with food?' Thereupon he said: 'They would belch and sweat (and it would be over with their food), and their sweat would be that of musk and they would glorify and praise Allah as easily as you breathe.'” (Reported by Muslim 6798)
