According to recent studies of 2013, listening to the recitation of the holy Qur’an with humility and comprehension of its meanings boosts the immune system thus helping people fight different kinds of diseases. The study showed that listening to the recitation of the holy Qur’an provided that it’s done with humility and meditating the meanings of the verses reduces the secretion of Cortisol, the stress hormone, i.e. listening to the recitation of the holy Qur’an cures the nervous tension. All glory to Allah, the almighty who says in the holy Qur’an:

“When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy.” A’raf: 7: 204
