![]() SPECIAL MESSAGE BEFORE YOU BEGIN: First of all I wish you all the best in your battle. I have had Psoriasis for over 25 years and this is the only "safe" thing that works for me. I hope the same for you. I wish I could say that this program is easy to follow (it's not). I wish I could say that everything you get to eat is the best tasting stuff in the world (it's not). But what I can say is that there are many more good choices of things to eat than bad. Maybe you won't see it that way at first but eventually I think you will. The most important thing I think I could say is "don't lose hope". While there is no guarantee this will work for you, I can guarantee it won't if you never really try. So consult your doctor give it all you got and hope for the best! Expect that things will seem to be getting worse at first. That is a tuff thing to accept but it can be true. There is much documentation out there about the positive effects of diet on Psoriasis and this program is the only way I can stick with things. The shake is life saver! Learn to love it if you can. It really doesn't taste bad (I realize that's a matter of opinion) but it does take some getting use to. Also, don't fail to log your progress using this program and take pictures as you go. Without some sort of reliable gauge of my success it would be very hard to have kept going. Try to spread out where you get your points with a good variety in your diet and drink the shakes (recipe below). Should you decide to do this program it must be without hesitation or reluctance. There just is no other way. It will be hard at times, easier at other times. Like me you'll have good days and bad. Victorious days and sad ones worthy of tears. Hang in there and track your progress. Write me at and I will try to respond as possible.

Rate from 1-10 how bad the Redness, Thickness, Flakiness, Itchiness & overall. Your combined estimates will be used to generate an average "condition" score for each day. NOTE: Feel free to use decimal points such as 1.5 or 4.25 etc etc. PICTURES: Try to take pictures each week of your progress. There are reminders built into the program date fields. 2) Follow the program as indicated. Track your progress throughout the day noting how much you do of the GOOD and BAD things. At the end of each day log this to your program scores. Try hard to not let your "program" scores fall below your "condition" scores. Shoot for a score of 10 each day! 3) Be sure to click "SAVE" as you go so as to not lose data. DO NOT FORGET TO DO YOUR LOGS EACH DAY. NOTE: A very important part of the program is to make and drink the special shake each day. This requires a good high powered blender (One that can crush ice quickly) © 2008-2009 www.howtobeatpsoriasis.com Below is the recipe for how to make the shakes. You will need. Vegetables: Romaine lettuce, Carrots, Celery, Sweet Potatoes (and/or yams), Squash, Zucchini, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Onions, Parsley You want equal amounts of everything except for lettuce, Parsley & onions. Use about 3 times the amount of lettuce, small amount Onion/Parsley. Basically you will be filling the blender about half way with chopped Romaine lettuce and then adding the other ingredients. Fruit: Anything but citrus, peaches or berries. I recommend Pineapple, Bananas, Pears or Grapes. Or a combination of them all. Other ingredients: Unsweetened pasteurized apple juice, Raw Oatmeal, Olive oil, Green Tea, Cinnamon, Raw Honey, fresh lemons, flax-seed (whole, ground or oil) (I know. I said no citrus but apparently there is something different about lemons and they really help with the taste) Preparation: If you try to cut all this stuff up every day you will soon tire. It is also very difficult to make fresh salads with these ingredients and expect to consume them every day. The amount of chewing required would be time consuming enough. So here is my stern recommendation to help you with the process. FIRST: Chop up all the vegetables into small sized pieces (a size that will be friendly to the blender that will be turning it into a liquid). NOTE: remember to chop up about 4 times as much lettuce as the other vegetable ingredients. SECOND: Wash all these vegetables well in a colander or other type of good volume strainer. THIRD: Shake off as much water as possible, mix all vegetables evenly and bag in some large zip-lock freezer bags and store in freezer. NOTE: I highly recommend you make enough to cover your needs for about a week. This amounts to about 2 large heads of lettuce and every thing else relative to that. This saves time, insures a good cold shake each day and keeps your vegetables fresh. ANOTHER NOTE: You can chop, wash, bag and freeze your fruits too but I actually prefer to cut and add fruit in fresh. You can also use pre-frozen fruits or vegetables from the store. Making the shake: Add your frozen vegetable mix to the empty blender leaving only enough room for your fruits. Add a good handful of your choice of fruits. This should completely fill the blender. Add 1 1/2 cups of the apple juice Add 1/2 cup of Oatmeal (don't worry it will blend smooth and creamy) Add clean fresh water up to the level of vegetables (you may need to add more later for consistency) Add the *******s of one Green Tea Bag. Add 3 tablespoons of the olive oil (you really don't taste it) Add one 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon (little more if you like) Add 1 full tablespoon of raw honey or pure maple syrup (Skip this if it makes you nervous) Squeeze in the juice of about 1 small lemon (or 1/2 a big lemon. You get the idea) Add flax-seed (One big handful of raw whole flax seed or ground flax seed or 1 table spoon flax-oil) Put the blender lid on securely, blend on medium for about 2 minutes (or until *******s are smooth). Add water as needed for consistency then blend on high for another 1-2 minutes. We want it to become a smooth liquid. Again, this requires a good high powered blender, like a Vitamix® Storage & Clean up: Pour the shake *******s in canning jars like the ones made from Ball® This should fill about 2-3 jars. Cover with the lids & Refrigerate immediately. Shake before drinking. I find large mouth canning jars to be the easiest to clean and travel with me in a small lunch cooler. I highly recommend you rinse and clean the blender and jars right away when they are empty. SERVING SIZE: Enter your body weight 175 lbs. Drink 8 ounces 4 times a day (adjust if you lose wieght) scores down. Your goal is to score 10 points per day on the "program" and bring your condition scores average to 1. © 2008-2009 www.howtobeatpsoriasis.com |
