In my own land

In my own land

living is banned

At my own home

they wander in my room

With my own hand

their gold is made from my sand

The most delicious treat

Is only for them to eat

My dad's drops of sweat

…his death &life is just a ..bet

My mom's precious tears

are laughter in their ears

My spacious wide wood

is their own factory of food

The sheep I shepherd everyday

their cold hands slay

My sister's white gown

they stained dark brown

They ravished my own bread

and threw me crumbs instead

Even my grandpa's stream

is their right ! they claim!

My lips they dried

even one sip of water was just denied

My best friend's blood was shed

red covered the colourful sheets of his own bed

Oh mom I' m really so afraid

is it really feast or just another raid?

Dad, leave me! you have grandma to carry

Why are we leaving home in such a hurry?

Dear God! my brother is so cold

with a big white sheet his tiny body they fold

Dad it's Friday - it's time to pray

It's God's call and we…. must obey

The mosque is only two blocks away

But a gun was pointed and stop they say
