verses describing the horrors of Judgment
verses describing the horrors of Judgment (1) ‘Abdullah bin Hamoud al-Furaih The horrors of the Day of Judgment (6) Al Qurtubi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported verses describing the horrors of that day: (for) the Day of Resurrection, when the heavens tremble until they pass above the heads of the slaves and change after providing some light you will see them kindled like the fire of Hell you will see them travelling like clouds they will leave their homes without inhabitants they will say to their masters “where will you go?” Hoor al een, the beauty of which is sensational for what sin did they kill her so easily? like the writing on rolled up scrolls covering the believers the orbits will go round for the sinners, it will make them exhale in grief for a child that had a prolonged hardship fears retribution and its heart is scared How (then) is the fate of the one who was steadfast on sinning for ages?[1] Prepare yourself oh proud one When the day’s sun becomes dark and dim When the stars fall and scatter When the seas explode out of fear from them When the mountains will be levelled from their roots When the families breakdown and become spoilt When the beasts of the Day of Resurrection are gathered When the Muslims get to know them, they will marry When the female infant buried alived will be asked about her situation When the Magnificent rolls up the heavens in His right (hand) When the scrolls are distributed so they fly When the heavens uncover their companions When Hell kindles its fire The hearts are adorned and beautified The fetus attached to its mother Without any sin, this scares the fetus [1] Look at: At-Tadhkirah by Al Qurtubi (page 214) |
ÑÏ: verses describing the horrors of Judgment
The condition of the people on the Day of Resurrection (disbelievers) The people are either Muslims or disbelievers: First:the situation of the disbelievers on that day; I will not be long and go into detail for this category, because the discussion here is about the doctrines of the fleeing of the Muslims and not the disbelievers. However, continuing the discussion, I will display the situation of the disbelievers without details or shortening. Second:the situation of the Muslims on that day; they are the centre of our discussion. We will divide them into two groups: The first group: the situation of the sinful believers The second group: the situation of the pious and righteous • Firstly: the situation of the disbelievers. It is possible to speak about them with the following points: 1. They come out asking for woe and predition. Allah Almighty says: {æóäõÝöÎó Ýöí ÇáÕøõæÑö ÝóÅöÐóÇ åõã ãøöäó ÇáúÃóÌúÏóÇËö Åöáóì ÑóÈøöåöãú íóäÓöáõæäó * ÞóÇáõæÇ íóÇ æóíúáóäóÇ ãóä ÈóÚóËóäóÇ ãöä ãøóÑúÞóÏöäóÇ åóÐóÇ ãóÇ æóÚóÏó ÇáÑøóÍúãóäõ æóÕóÏóÞó ÇáúãõÑúÓóáõæäó} "And the Horn will be blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten." [Yasin: 51] 2. Their regret, humiliation, heartbreak and disgrace will be on that day The narrations clarifying this are many. Allah Almighty says regarding their humiliation: {æóÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÓóÈõæÇú ÇáÓøóíøöÆóÇÊö ÌóÒóÇÁ ÓóíøöÆóÉò ÈöãöËúáöåóÇ æóÊóÑúåóÞõåõãú ÐöáøóÉñ ãøóÇ áóåõã ãøöäó Çááøåö ãöäú ÚóÇÕöãò ßóÃóäøóãóÇ ÃõÛúÔöíóÊú æõÌõæåõåõãú ÞöØóÚÇð ãøöäó Çááøóíúáö ãõÙúáöãÇð ÃõæúáóÜÆößó ÃóÕúÍóÇÈõ ÇáäøóÇÑö åõãú ÝöíåóÇ ÎóÇáöÏõæäó} “But they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its *****alent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allah no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.” [Yunus: 27] Their regret: {æóÇÊøóÈöÚõæÇ ÃóÍúÓóäó ãóÇ ÃõäÒöáó Åöáóíúßõã ãøöä ÑøóÈøößõã ãøöä ÞóÈúáö Ãóä íóÃúÊöíóßõãõ ÇáÚóÐóÇÈõ ÈóÛúÊóÉð æóÃóäÊõãú áóÇ ÊóÔúÚõÑõæäó * Ãóä ÊóÞõæáó äóÝúÓñ íóÇ ÍóÓúÑóÊóì Úáóì ãóÇ ÝóÑøóØÊõ Ýöí ÌóäÈö Çááøóåö æóÅöä ßõäÊõ áóãöäó ÇáÓøóÇÎöÑöíäó * Ãóæú ÊóÞõæáó áóæú Ãóäøó Çááøóåó åóÏóÇäöí áóßõäÊõ ãöäó ÇáúãõÊøóÞöíäó * Ãóæú ÊóÞõæáó Íöíäó ÊóÑóì ÇáúÚóÐóÇÈó áóæú Ãóäøó áöí ßóÑøóÉð ÝóÃóßõæäó ãöäó ÇáúãõÍúÓöäöíäó * Èóáóì ÞóÏú ÌóÇÁÊúßó ÂíóÇÊöí ÝóßóÐøóÈúÊó ÈöåóÇ æóÇÓúÊóßúÈóÑúÊó æóßõäÊó ãöäó ÇáúßóÇÝöÑöíäó } “And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive. Lest a soul should say, "Oh [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah and that I was among the mockers." Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous." Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good." But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers.” [Al Zumar: 55-59] Their disgrace: {Ëõãøó íóæúãó ÇáúÞöíóÇãóÉö íõÎúÒöíåöãú æóíóÞõæáõ Ãóíúäó ÔõÑóßóÂÆöíó ÇáøóÐöíäó ßõäÊõãú ÊõÔóÇÞøõæäó Ýöíåöãú ÞóÇáó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÃõæÊõæÇú ÇáúÚöáúãó Åöäøó ÇáúÎöÒúíó Çáúíóæúãó æóÇáúÓøõæÁó Úóáóì ÇáúßóÇÝöÑöíäó} “Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers"” [Al Nahl: 27] All of that is from their horror of Allah Almighty on that day. From their extreme regret, they wish to be (turned to) dust: {ÅöäøóÇ ÃóäÐóÑúäóÇßõãú ÚóÐóÇÈÇð ÞóÑöíÈÇð íóæúãó íóäÙõÑõ ÇáúãóÑúÁõ ãóÇ ÞóÏøóãóÊú íóÏóÇåõ æóíóÞõæáõ ÇáúßóÇÝöÑõ íóÇ áóíúÊóäöí ßõäÊõ ÊõÑóÇÈÇð } "Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!" [Al Naba: 40] From their horror, they will wish to see those who led them astray them to trample them with their feet: {æóÞóÇáó ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇ ÑóÈøóäóÇ ÃóÑöäóÇ ÇáøóÐóíúäö ÃóÖóáøóÇäóÇ ãöäó ÇáúÌöäøö æóÇáúÅöäÓö äóÌúÚóáúåõãóÇ ÊóÍúÊó ÃóÞúÏóÇãöäóÇ áöíóßõæäóÇ ãöäó ÇáúÃóÓúÝóáöíäó } "And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the Jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest." [Fussilat: 29] From their horror on that day and what it has of punishment, they will wish to put forwards their children, their wives, their brothers, their relatives as a redemption for that day so that they may be saved. They hope to put forwards all that is on the earth in order to be saved from the punishment but this is their situation: {íõÈóÕøóÑõæäóåõãú íóæóÏøõ ÇáúãõÌúÑöãõ áóæú íóÝúÊóÏöí ãöäú ÚóÐóÇÈö íóæúãöÆöÐò ÈöÈóäöíåö *æóÕóÇÍöÈóÊöåö æóÃóÎöíåö * æóÝóÕöíáóÊöåö ÇáøóÊöí ÊõÄúæíåö ¹ æóãóä Ýöí ÇáúÃóÑúÖö ÌóãöíÚÇð Ëõãøó íõäÌöíåö } "They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children. And his wife and his brother. And his nearest kindred who shelter him. And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him." [Al Maarij: 11-14] 3. The Blackening of faces and their transformation. Allah Almighty says when describing their faces: {æóÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÓóÈõæÇú ÇáÓøóíøöÆóÇÊö ÌóÒóÇÁ ÓóíøöÆóÉò ÈöãöËúáöåóÇ æóÊóÑúåóÞõåõãú ÐöáøóÉñ ãøóÇ áóåõã ãøöäó Çááøåö ãöäú ÚóÇÕöãò ßóÃóäøóãóÇ ÃõÛúÔöíóÊú æõÌõæåõåõãú ÞöØóÚÇð ãøöäó Çááøóíúáö ãõÙúáöãÇð ÃõæúáóÜÆößó ÃóÕúÍóÇÈõ ÇáäøóÇÑö åõãú ÝöíåóÇ ÎóÇáöÏõæäó} "But they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its *****alent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allah no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally" [Yunus: 27] He said: {æóíóæúãó ÇáúÞöíóÇãóÉö ÊóÑóì ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÐóÈõæÇú Úóáóì Çááøóåö æõÌõæåõåõã ãøõÓúæóÏøóÉñ ÃóáóíúÓó Ýöí Ìóåóäøóãó ãóËúæðì áøöáúãõÊóßóÈøöÑöíäó} “And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant?” [Al Zumar: 60] He said elsewhere: {æóæõÌõæåñ íóæúãóÆöÐò ÈóÇÓöÑóÉñ} “And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted” [Al Qiyama: 24] Meaning: grim, dark and frowning. It is said: meaning: their colour changes. Their meanings are similar. He said: {æóæõÌõæåñ íóæúãóÆöÐò ÚóáóíúåóÇ ÛóÈóÑóÉñ * ÊóÑúåóÞõåóÇ ÞóÊóÑóÉñ * ÃõæúáóÆößó åõãõ ÇáúßóÝóÑóÉõ ÇáúÝóÌóÑóÉõ} “And [other] faces, that Day, will have Ghabara. Qatara Blackness will cover them. Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.” [Abasa: 40-42] Ghabara: dust and smoke. Qatara: blackness When the sun approaches the creation at the distance of one mile, the sweat running down from people varies based on the level of their deeds. Among them are those whose sweat is at (the level of) their ankles, at their knees and to their middle. Among them are those drowning in their sweat as it came in the Hadith of Al Miqdad ibn Al Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) with Muslim. There is no doubt that the disbelievers will have the greatest fate. 4. The descent of their deeds What a disbeliever presents from good deeds such as charity, protection, keeping family ties, spending and the like for the sake of good, these do not have any value for them. Allah Almighty compares it to the mirage: {æóÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇ ÃóÚúãóÇáõåõãú ßóÓóÑóÇÈò ÈöÞöíÚóÉò íóÍúÓóÈõåõ ÇáÙøóãúÂäõ ãóÇÁ ÍóÊøóì ÅöÐóÇ ÌóÇÁåõ áóãú íóÌöÏúåõ ÔóíúÆÇð æóæóÌóÏó Çááøóåó ÚöäÏóåõ ÝóæóÝøóÇåõ ÍöÓóÇÈóåõ æóÇááøóåõ ÓóÑöíÚõ ÇáúÍöÓóÇÈö} “But those who disbelieved - their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allah before Him, and He will pay him in full his due; and Allah is swift in account.” [Al Noor: 39] He compared it to ash as He said: {ãøóËóáõ ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇú ÈöÑóÈøöåöãú ÃóÚúãóÇáõåõãú ßóÑóãóÇÏò ÇÔúÊóÏøóÊú Èöåö ÇáÑøöíÍõ Ýöí íóæúãò ÚóÇÕöÝò áÇøó íóÞúÏöÑõæäó ãöãøóÇ ßóÓóÈõæÇú Úóáóì ÔóíúÁò Ðóáößó åõæó ÇáÖøóáÇóáõ ÇáúÈóÚöíÏõ} “The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.” [Ibrahim: 18] He made it as scattered floating dust. He said: {æóÞóÏöãúäóÇ Åöáóì ãóÇ ÚóãöáõæÇ ãöäú Úóãóáò ÝóÌóÚóáúäóÇåõ åóÈóÇÁ ãøóäËõæÑÇð} “And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.” [Al Furqan: 23] He made it clear that they think they are improving in deeds when they are in loss that does not give them any weighing on the Day of Resurrection. He said: {Þõáú åóáú äõäóÈøöÆõßõãú ÈöÇáúÃóÎúÓóÑöíäó ÃóÚúãóÇáÇð * ÇáøóÐöíäó Öóáøó ÓóÚúíõåõãú Ýöí ÇáúÍóíóÇÉö ÇáÏøõäúíóÇ æóåõãú íóÍúÓóÈõæäó Ãóäøóåõãú íõÍúÓöäõæäó ÕõäúÚÇð * ÃõæáóÆößó ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇ ÈöÂíóÇÊö ÑóÈøöåöãú æóáöÞóÇÆöåö ÝóÍóÈöØóÊú ÃóÚúãóÇáõåõãú ÝóáóÇ äõÞöíãõ áóåõãú íóæúãó ÇáúÞöíóÇãóÉö æóÒúäÇð } “Say, [O Muhammad], "Shall we [believers] inform you of the greatest losers as to [their] deeds? [They are] those whose effort is lost in worldly life, while they think that they are doing well in work." Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in [their] meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance.” [Al Kahf: 103-105] 5. Their disgrace by cursing the witnesses as nothing is hidden from them Allah Almighty says: {æóãóäú ÃóÙúáóãõ ãöãøóäö ÇÝúÊóÑóì Úóáóì Çááøåö ßóÐöÈÇð ÃõæúáóÜÆößó íõÚúÑóÖõæäó Úóáóì ÑóÈøöåöãú æóíóÞõæáõ ÇáÃóÔúåóÇÏõ åóÜÄõáÇÁ ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÐóÈõæÇú Úóáóì ÑóÈøöåöãú ÃóáÇó áóÚúäóÉõ Çááøåö Úóáóì ÇáÙøóÇáöãöíäó} “And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah ? Those will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord." Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.” [Hud: 18] 6. Disputes between the disbelievers among themselves at the situation These disputes came in different ways. Among them: A. Disputes of followers with their leaders and disgrace prevailing over them Allah Almighty says clarifying that: {æóÃóÞúÈóáó ÈóÚúÖõåõãú Úóáóì ÈóÚúÖò íóÊóÓóÇÁáõæäó* ÞóÇáõæÇ Åöäøóßõãú ßõäÊõãú ÊóÃúÊõæäóäóÇ Úóäö Çáúíóãöíäö * ÞóÇáõæÇ Èóá áøóãú ÊóßõæäõæÇ ãõÄúãöäöíäó * æóãóÇ ßóÇäó áóäóÇ Úóáóíúßõã ãøöä ÓõáúØóÇäò Èóáú ßõäÊõãú ÞóæúãÇð ØóÇÛöíäó * ÝóÍóÞøó ÚóáóíúäóÇ Þóæúáõ ÑóÈøöäóÇ ÅöäøóÇ áóÐóÇÆöÞõæäó * ÝóÃóÛúæóíúäóÇßõãú ÅöäøóÇ ßõäøóÇ ÛóÇæöíäó} “And they will approach one another blaming each other. They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers. And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." [Al Saffat: 27-32] Then those who were followed will dispute with their followers: {ÅöÐú ÊóÈóÑøóÃó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÇÊøõÈöÚõæÇú ãöäó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÇÊøóÈóÚõæÇú æóÑóÃóæõÇú ÇáúÚóÐóÇÈó æóÊóÞóØøóÚóÊú Èöåöãõ ÇáÃóÓúÈóÇÈõ} “[And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship]” [Al Baqara: 166] If the followers see this they will grieve, be grim and wish that they had not followed them. {æóÞóÇáó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÇÊøóÈóÚõæÇú áóæú Ãóäøó áóäóÇ ßóÑøóÉð ÝóäóÊóÈóÑøóÃó ãöäúåõãú ßóãóÇ ÊóÈóÑøóÄõæÇú ãöäøóÇ ßóÐóáößó íõÑöíåöãõ Çááøåõ ÃóÚúãóÇáóåõãú ÍóÓóÑóÇÊò Úóáóíúåöãú æóãóÇ åõã ÈöÎóÇÑöÌöíäó ãöäó ÇáäøóÇÑö} “Those who followed will say, "If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.” [Al Baqara: 167] In clarifying that also: {æóÈóÑóÒõæÇú áöáøåö ÌóãöíÚÇð ÝóÞóÇáó ÇáÖøõÚóÝóÇÁ áöáøóÐöíäó ÇÓúÊóßúÈóÑõæÇú ÅöäøóÇ ßõäøóÇ áóßõãú ÊóÈóÚÇð Ýóåóáú ÃóäÊõã ãøõÛúäõæäó ÚóäøóÇ ãöäú ÚóÐóÇÈö Çááøåö ãöä ÔóíúÁò ÞóÇáõæÇú áóæú åóÏóÇäóÇ Çááøåõ áóåóÏóíúäóÇßõãú ÓóæóÇÁ ÚóáóíúäóÇ ÃóÌóÒöÚúäóÇ Ãóãú ÕóÈóÑúäóÇ ãóÇ áóäóÇ ãöä ãøóÍöíÕò} “And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah ?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."” [Ibrahim: 21] He also said: {æóÅöÐú íóÊóÍóÇÌøõæäó Ýöí ÇáäøóÇÑö ÝóíóÞõæáõ ÇáÖøõÚóÝóÇÁ áöáøóÐöíäó ÇÓúÊóßúÈóÑõæÇ ÅöäøóÇ ßõäøóÇ áóßõãú ÊóÈóÚÇð Ýóåóáú ÃóäÊõã ãøõÛúäõæäó ÚóäøóÇ äóÕöíÈÇð ãøöäó ÇáäøóÇÑö * ÞóÇáó ÇáøóÐöíäó ÇÓúÊóßúÈóÑõæÇ ÅöäøóÇ ßõáøñ ÝöíåóÇ Åöäøó Çááøóåó ÞóÏú Íóßóãó Èóíúäó ÇáúÚöÈóÇÏö} “And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?" Those who had been arrogant will say, "Indeed, all [of us] are in it. Indeed, Allah has judged between the servants." [Ghafir: 47-48] B. The dispute of the disbeliever with their partner devil who is with him Allah Almighty says: {ÞóÇáó ÞóÑöíäõåõ ÑóÈøóäóÇ ãóÇ ÃóØúÛóíúÊõåõ æóáóßöä ßóÇäó Ýöí ÖóáóÇáò ÈóÚöíÏò * ÞóÇáó áóÇ ÊóÎúÊóÕöãõæÇ áóÏóíøó æóÞóÏú ÞóÏøóãúÊõ Åöáóíúßõã ÈöÇáúæóÚöíÏö} “His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." [ Allah ] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. [Qaf: 27-28] Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), Mujahid, Qatada and other than them (may Allah be pleased with them): “His qareen said.” That is: the shaytan who has been assigned to him[1] C. The disbeliever even argues with his body parts and limbs Ponder upon this argument. Allah Almighty said: :{æóíóæúãó íõÍúÔóÑõ ÃóÚúÏóÇÁ Çááøóåö Åöáóì ÇáäøóÇÑö Ýóåõãú íõæÒóÚõæäó * ÍóÊøóì ÅöÐóÇ ãóÇ ÌóÇÄõæåóÇ ÔóåöÏó Úóáóíúåöãú ÓóãúÚõåõãú æóÃóÈúÕóÇÑõåõãú æóÌõáõæÏõåõãú ÈöãóÇ ßóÇäõæÇ íóÚúãóáõæäó * óÞóÇáõæÇ áöÌõáõæÏöåöãú áöãó ÔóåöÏÊøõãú ÚóáóíúäóÇ ÞóÇáõæÇ ÃóäØóÞóäóÇ Çááøóåõ ÇáøóÐöí ÃóäØóÞó ßõáøó ÔóíúÁò æóåõæó ÎóáóÞóßõãú Ãóæøóáó ãóÑøóÉò æóÅöáóíúåö ÊõÑúÌóÚõæäó} “And on the day that the enemies of Allah shall be brought together to the fire then they shall be formed into groups. Until when they come to it, their ears, their eyes and their skin shall bear witness against them as to what they did. They shall say to their skin: why have you borne witness against us? They shall say: Allah Who makes everything speak has made us speak. He created you at first and to Him you shall be brought back” [Fussilat: 19-21] This meaning has been explained by the Prophet (peace be upon him). In Sahih Muslim Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah would sit in judgment upon the servant and would say: O, so and so, did I not honour you and make you the chief and provide you the spouse and subdue for you horses, camels, and afforded you an opportunity to rule over your subjects? He would say: Yes. And then it would be said: Did you not think that you would meet Us? And he would say: No. Thereupon He (Allah) would say: Well, We forget you as you forgot Us. Then the second person would be brought for judgment. (And Allah would) say: 0, so and so. did We not honour you and make you the chief and make you pair and subdue for you horses and camels and afford you an opportunity to rule over your subjects? He would say: Yes, my Lord. And He (the Lord) would say: Did you not think that you would be meeting Us? And he would say: No. And then He (Allah) would say: Well, I forget you today as you forgot Us. Then the third -one would be brought and He (Allah) would say to him as He said before. And he (the third person) would say: O, my Lord, I affirmed my faith in Thee and in Thy Book and in Thy Messenger and I observed prayer and fasts and gave charity, and he would speak in good terms like this as he would be able to do. And He (Allah) would say: Well, We will bring our witnesses to you. And the man would think in his mind who would bear witness upon him and then his mouth would be sealed and it would be said to his thighs, to his flesh and to his bones to speak and his thighs. flesh and bones would bear witness to his deeds and it would be done so that he should not be able to make any excuse for himself and he would be a hypocrite and Allah would be annoyed with him."[2] This dialogue between the slave and his limbs are strange. They made the Prophet (peace be upon him) laugh. In Sahih Muslim as well, there is the Hadith of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: we were with the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he laughed. He said: Do you know why I laughed? We said: Allah and His Messenger, know best. Thereupon he said: It was because of the (fact that there came to my mind the) talk which the servant would have with his Lord. (on the Day of judgment). He would say: My Lord, have you not guaranteed me protection against injustice? He would say: Yes. Then the servant would say: I do not deem valid any witness against me but my own self, and He would say: Well, enough would he the witness of your self against you and that of the two angels who had been appointed to record your deeds. Then the seal would be set upon his mouth and it would be said to his hands and feet to speak and they would speak of his deeds. Then the mouth would be made free to talk, he would say (to the bands and feet): Be away, let there be curse of Allah upon you. It was for your safety that I contended.[3] 7. They have Maqt for themselves Maqt is: the most extreme hatred. On that day their hatred for themselves reaches a great level. Allah Almighty says: {Åöäøó ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇ íõäóÇÏóæúäó áóãóÞúÊõ Çááøóåö ÃóßúÈóÑõ ãöä ãøóÞúÊößõãú ÃóäÝõÓóßõãú ÅöÐú ÊõÏúÚóæúäó Åöáóì ÇáúÅöíãóÇäö ÝóÊóßúÝõÑõæäó } “Indeed, those who disbelieve will be addressed, "The hatred of Allah for you was [even] greater than your hatred of yourselves [this Day in Hell] when you were invited to faith, but you refused.” [Ghafir: 10] They have Maqt for their saviours in the world and call for increasing their punishment: { íóæúãó ÊõÞóáøóÈõ æõÌõæåõåõãú Ýöí ÇáäøóÇÑö íóÞõæáõæäó íóÇ áóíúÊóäóÇ ÃóØóÚúäóÇ Çááøóåó æóÃóØóÚúäóÇ ÇáÑøóÓõæáóÇ *æóÞóÇáõæÇ ÑóÈøóäóÇ ÅöäøóÇ ÃóØóÚúäóÇ ÓóÇÏóÊóäóÇ æóßõÈóÑóÇÁäóÇ ÝóÃóÖóáøõæäóÇ ÇáÓøóÈöíáóÇ * ÑóÈøóäóÇ ÂÊöåöãú ÖöÚúÝóíúäö ãöäó ÇáúÚóÐóÇÈö æóÇáúÚóäúåõãú áóÚúäÇð ßóÈöíÑÇð} “The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger." And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way.Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse."They shall say: o our Lord! Srely we obeyed our leaders and our great men so they led us astray from the path. O our Lord! Give them a double punishment and curse them with a great curse” [Al Ahzab: 66-68] Because of their great Maqt, they wish to take over that so trample over them with their feet: {æóÞóÇáó ÇáøóÐöíäó ßóÝóÑõæÇ ÑóÈøóäóÇ ÃóÑöäóÇ ÇáøóÐóíúäö ÃóÖóáøóÇäóÇ ãöäó ÇáúÌöäøö æóÇáúÅöäÓö äóÌúÚóáúåõãóÇ ÊóÍúÊó ÃóÞúÏóÇãöäóÇ áöíóßõæäóÇ ãöäó ÇáúÃóÓúÝóáöíäó } “And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the Jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest.” [Fussilat: 29] Their anger and Maqt continues until they enter the fire. Their voices rise and they curse each other. They wish for more punishment for each other: {ÞóÇáó ÇÏúÎõáõæÇú Ýöí Ãõãóãò ÞóÏú ÎóáóÊú ãöä ÞóÈúáößõã ãøöä ÇáúÌöäøö æóÇáÅöäÓö Ýöí ÇáäøóÇÑö ßõáøóãóÇ ÏóÎóáóÊú ÃõãøóÉñ áøóÚóäóÊú ÃõÎúÊóåóÇ ÍóÊøóì ÅöÐóÇ ÇÏøóÇÑóßõæÇú ÝöíåóÇ ÌóãöíÚÇð ÞóÇáóÊú ÃõÎúÑóÇåõãú áÃõæáÇóåõãú ÑóÈøóäóÇ åóÜÄõáÇÁ ÃóÖóáøõæäóÇ ÝóÂÊöåöãú ÚóÐóÇÈÇð ÖöÚúÝÇð ãøöäó ÇáäøóÇÑö ÞóÇáó áößõáøò ÖöÚúÝñ æóáóÜßöä áÇøó ÊóÚúáóãõæäó} [ Allah ] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of Jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know.” [Al Araf: 38] [1] Look at: Tafseer of Ibn Katheer for this verse [2] Narrated by Muslim number (2968). Oh ful meaning oh so and so person.
