The sayings of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him
Assalamu alaykom wa rahmatu Allah wa barakatuh I have been receiving, for a while now, a lot of translated sayings by our prophet Mohammad Peace Be Upon Him, and I have decided to add all of them here so non-arabic speaking muslims can benifit from such treasure Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “If anyone of you looked at a person who was made superior to him in property and (in good) appearance, then he should also look at the one who is inferior to him, and to whom he has been made superior. "Shahih Bukhari. Book 76 Volume No. 008 Hadith No. 497 Narated By Abu Huraira 30 - باب: لينظر إلى من هو أسفل منه، ولا ينظر إلى من هو فوقه. 6125 - حدثنا إسماعيل قال: حدثني مالك، عن أبي الزناد، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: (إذا نظر أحدكم إلى من فضل عليه في المال والخلق فلينظر إلى من هو أسفل منه). |
Delay In Paying Debts
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:""Procrastination (delay) in repaying debts by a wealthy person is injustice." Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.585 Narrated by Abu Huraira حدثنا مسدد حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن همام بن منبه أخي وهب بن منبه أنه سمع أبا هريرة رضي الله عنه يقول قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : (مطل الغني ظلم). رواه البخاري |

Interpretation Of Dreams
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The worst lie is that a person claims to have seen a dream which he has not seen." Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 009 Book 087 Hadith number 167 Narrated by Ibn 'Umar روى البخاري عن واثلة بن الأسقع أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "إن من أعظم الفرى أن يدعي الرجل إلى غير أبيه، أو يري عينه ما لم تر، أو يقول على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ما لم يقل". |
Charity
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Almighty Allah says: O son of Adam, if you spend the surplus, it will be better for you; and if you retain it, it will be bad for you. You will not be reprimanded for keeping what is enough for your needs. Begin with those who are your dependents, and the upper hand (i.e., the one that spends in the way of Alllah)is better than the lower hand (i.e., the one that receives charity) Sahih Muslim Hadith Number 552 Narrated By Abu Umamah (r.a.) حدثنا عبد الله ، حدثني أبي ، ثنا زيد بن يحيى الدمشقي ، ثنا عبد الله بن العلاء بن زبر قال : سمعت القاسم ـ مولى يزيد ـ يقول : حدثني أبو هريرة : (أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم قال : إن الله عز و جل يقول : يا ابن آدم إن تعط الفضل فهو خير لك ، و إن تمسكه فهو شر لك ، و ابدأ بمن تعول ، و لا يلوم الله على الكفاف ، و اليد العليا خير لك من اليد السفلى . |
Give charity when healthy
A man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "O Allah's Apostle! What kind of charity is the best?" He (peace be upon him) replied. "To give in charity when you are healthy and greedy, hoping to be wealthy and afraid of becoming poor. Don't delay giving in charity till the time when you are on the death bed, when you say, 'Give so much to so-and-so and so much to so-and so,' and at that time the property is not (really) yours, but it belongs to so-and-so (i.e. your inheritors)." Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.11 Narrated by Abu Huraira حدثنا عبد الله ، حدثني أبي ، ثنا جرير بن عبد الحميد ، عن عمارة بن القعقاع ، عن أبي زرعة ، عن أبي هريرة قال : : (سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أي الصدقة أفضل ؟ قال : لتنبأن أن تتصدق و أنت صحيح شحيح تأمل البقاء و تخاف الفقر و لا تمهل ، حتى إذا بلغت الحلقوم قلت : لفلان كذا ، و لفلان كذا ألا وقد كان لفلان .). |

Double face person
Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)said: "The worst people in the Sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be the double faced people who appear to some people with one face and to other people with another face." Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 008, Book 073, Hadith Number 084 Narrated by Abu Huraira: أخبرنا أبو علي الحسين بن محمد الروذباري أنا أبو علي إسماعيل بن محمد بن إسماعيل الصفار ثنا محمد بن عبد الملك الدقيقي ثنا روح بن عبادة ثنا مالك عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج عن أبي هريرة : ( أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال : من أسوأ الناس ذو الوجهين الذي يأتي هؤلاء بوجه و هؤلاء بوجه و إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال : إياكم و الظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث و لا تحسسوا و لا تجسسوا و لا تحاسدوا و لا تباغضوا و كونوا عباد الله إخواناً . روى مسلم الحديثين عن يحيى بن يحيى عن مالك و روى البخاري الحديث الثاني عن عبد الله بن يوسف عن مالك .). |
Bodily desires
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “A wise person is one who keeps a watch over his bodily desires and passions, and checks himself from that which is harmful and strives for that which will benefit him after death; and a foolish person is one who subordinates himself to his cravings and desires and expects from God the fulfillments of his futile desires” Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 66 Narrated by AbuYa'la ibn Shaddad ibn Aws حدثنا سفيان بن وكيع حدثنا عيسى بن يونس عن أبي بكر بن أبي مريم ح وحدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن أخبرنا عمرو بن عون أخبرنا بن المبارك عن أبي بكر بن أبي مريم عن ضمرة بن حبيب عن شداد بن أوس عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : (الكيس من دان نفسه وعمل لما بعد الموت والعاجز من أتبع نفسه هواها وتمنى على الله قال هذا حديث حسن قال ومعنى قوله من دان نفسه يقول حاسب نفسه في الدنيا قبل أن يحاسب يوم القيامة ويروى عن عمر بن الخطاب قال حاسبوا أنفسكم قبل أن تحاسبوا وتزينوا للعرض الأكبر وإنما يخف الحساب يوم القيامة على من حاسب نفسه في الدنيا ويروى عن ميمون بن مهران قال لا يكون العبد تقيا حتى يحاسب نفسه كما يحاسب شريكه من أين مطعمه وملبسه). |
