يامن يرى عمراً تكسوه بردته *** الزيت أدم له والكوخ مأوهــــــــــه
يهتز كسرى من على كرسيه *** فرقاً من بأسه وملوك الروم تخشاه


إن جاع في شدةٍ قومٌ شَرَفْتَهُم *** في الجوع أو تنجلي عنهم غواشيها
جوع الخليفة والدنيا بقبضته *** في الزهد منزلة سبحان مُوليها


ما كان إلا الشمس يسطع ضوؤها *** والخصب في أرض الضلال الماحلِ
قف أيها التاريخ سجل صفحةً *** غراء تنطق بالخلود الكاملِ
حَرِّك بسيرته القلوب وقد قست *** وعدت بقسوتها كصُمِّ جنادلِ


فمن يباري أبا حفصٍ وسيرتَه *** ومن يحاول للفاروقِ تشبيها
ومن رآه أمام القدر منبطحًا *** والنارُ تأخذ منه وهو يُزْكِيْهَا
وقد تخلل في أثناء لحيته *** منها الدخان وغاب فُوهُ فِي فِيهَا
رأى هناك أمير المؤمنين على *** حالٍ تروع لعَمْرِ الله رائِيْهَا
يستقبل النارَ خوف النارِ في غَدِه *** والعَيْنُ من خشيةٍ سالت مآقِيها


له أمنياتٌ قَدَّسَ الله سِرَّها *** لتحقيقها في الأرض يرسو ويبحرُ
يَكِلُّ جناح النسر دون بلوغها *** وفي دربها الخيل الأصيلة تعثرُ


يهفو إليهم لعل العيش يهنأ له *** ما بين صحب وأرحام وإخوان



لكل فاجعة في الدهر سُلْوان *** وما لنكبة أرض القدس سلوان
هذى مآذنه خرساء ذاهلة *** فلا آذان ولا في الناس آذان
بيت مشى أمس في ساحاته عمر *** فكيف يمرح فيه اليوم شيطان


فلقاه ربي في الجنان تحية *** ومن كسوة الفردوس ما لم يمزق
نِلْتَ الشهادة فاهنأ أيها العمر *** بمثل عدلك تُبْنَى ما انتهت دول
أمامك الجنة الخضراء فاهنأ بها*** لا يُرْتَجَى العمر يومًا إن دنا الأجل
انْعَم بخلدك في أبهائها فرحًا *** إنَّ الخلود جزاء أيها البطل


لقد كان بدرًا يستضاء بنوره *** فأضحى رهينًا في المقابر ثاويًا
تغمده الرب الكريم بفضله *** ولا زال هَطَّالا من العفو هاميًا
على قبره يهمي عشية وبكرة *** وبوَّأه قصر من الخلد عاليًا


واختم بهذا البيت:


فمن يجاري أبا حفص وسيرته ..... أم من يحاول للفاروق تشبيها
